Are you a Contractor interested in working with Alberta Forestry and Parks (FP) Wildfire Compliance and Investigation Unit for the 2024-2026 wildfire seasons? Contracts for wildfire investigation services are now available for the upcoming wildfire seasons, which run from March 1 to October 31 annually. The following will provide you with general information on the terms, conditions, and requirements of Departmental Contracts. The Forestry Division, which is responsible for the investigation of wildfires within the Forest Protection Area (FPA) of Alberta, requires contracted Ignitable Liquid Residue (ILR) Detection Teams to assist with the investigation of the origin and cause of wildfires, and to assist in field research projects. There is no guarantee of work under the terms of the ILR Detection Team contract. Contractors will be hired on an as-need basis based on the specific requirements of an investigation. The Contractor shall provide experienced staff, fully equipped with all necessary equipment and supplies, they may be required to travel throughout the province on short notice. The ILR Detection Team shall be certified by a reputable certifying organization. Contractors shall be required to complete the Wildfire Orientation Course online before working on an active wildfire.
